MY ENCOUNTER WITH AN ANGEL

Over the past 45 years as a Christian missionary and as a teacher and now as an author and writer - I have seen many strange things. I have experienced some good supernatural happenings and some bad ones as well.

The first supernatural experience that I can remember happened to me when I lived in Denmark and was  22 years old in 1974.

I had to go out late one night to do some laundry and I went with a teenage friend. We had made the mistake of going very late at night and by the time we had finished and taken a bus we arrived at the end of the road from where we lived - but there were still  3 miles for us to have to walk when there was a foot of snow on the ground and it was around 14 minus C - and plus we had  two big bundles of laundry to carry, which we had done for a young mother and her two kids.

We didn't know how we were going to manage to get home! So,we did what we always did in a tight situation. We stopped to pray and asked that God would do a miracle for us and send along an angel.

Well...I had hadly gotten the words out of my mouth when a  car came along the very same second....

ISA.65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

 I don't remember the make and model of the car - but I do remember that something was odd. There was a luminescent covering of light around the vehicle around 1 cm thick. We hitch-hiked the car and it immediately stopped - to our relief. I looked at the driver who had a magnificant smile on his face and I told him where we were going. His response was 'Yes I know - hop in.' We both sensed that this person was in fact angelic and we both sat in the back seats. My friend mumbled to me very quietly 'Do you suppose that he is an angel?' I replied in a very soft tone 'Of course he is! Well the strange thing was that although we sat behind this angel that we could feel light coming out of him which was very comforting to both of us and we knew that it was God's power.

Here is where it gets absolutely amazing. The angel drove us right outside opposite to our house entrance without us even telling him exactly where to stop - as we were quite enthralled by the situation.

My friend Peter got out first, as he was nearest to the pavement. At the same time the driver quickly got our laundry out of the boot and put it on the pavement.

In the short time that it took me to follow my friend out of the 'pavement side' door of the car, I got out and then immediately turned around in order to close the door of the mysterious car.

It wa then to my shock that I noticed that  'POOF' the car had vanished and was no longer there! I literally didn't even get the opportunity to close the door!

Wow! Getting home we sure had tales to tell to the other young people there.

It took us around 3 weeks to come done from such a high spiritual experience. I know now that that angel was a GUARDIAN ANGEL assigned to us at the time.

HEB.13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares

Steve: I have had the above experience  ofseeing an angel at close range only once that I know of.

MORAL OF THE STORY: If you get in a really tight situation ask the Lord to send an angel to help you and your family and I am sure that He will send help in one form or another - even if it isn't as showy as the above testimony.

PSA.42:11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

MAT.7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
MAT.7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
